Frankie has been competing at the state and national level for the past 12 years, pre-school to 10th grade. Having participated in over 200 tournaments, he has set the Illinois Scholastic record for most scholastic tournaments and victories. He has also won the Grand Prix title for 4th-8th grade. During his chess career he has amassed multiple state titles (Primary Champion, Elementary Champion, 2-time Junior High Champion, 2-time High School Champion) and also several all-grade titles. During the past 4 years he has won the state tournament 4 times with a total score of 28 victories and 0 defeats. Also, Frankie is one of the best blitz players in the state having won multiple Blitz titles. On the national level, he has been able to place in the top 25 every year since pre-school. Other national achievements include; winning the 2001 Youth Action National Blitz Title and placing 3rd at the 2001 Super Nationals Blitz (20.5-1.5). Besides his individual accomplishments, he has also tutored the current 2nd grade state champion, who also tied for 2nd at the Youth Action Nationals in ’07.
